This 1940 pattern combat box buckle features a smooth outer background with a slightly domed, embossed central motif. The high-relief motif showcases a Wehrmacht eagle with down-swept wings at the center, surrounded by an oak-leaf cluster at the bottom and the inscription "GOTT MIT UNS" (God with Us) at the top. The oak-leaf cluster and inscription are set against a ribbed background, encircled by inner and outer simulated twisted rope borders.
The reverse of the buckle mirrors the obverse and includes a brazed buckle catch, prong bar, and intact prongs. The belt is maker-marked to G. Brehmer Markneukirchen and dated 1941.
