The H 161D/U Headset Microphone, manufactured by Astrocom Electronics, is a classic piece of U.S. military tactical communications gear. Designed for use with the AN/VIC 1 intercom system and AN/VRC 12 series radios, it served as a standard headset for vehicle crews and ground personnel.
Although developed prior to the Vietnam War, it saw extensive service throughout the conflict and remained a mainstay of Cold War era communications.
