This unique piece of World War II memorabilia, colloquially known as "Firefly" was popular among paratroopers. It was named after the traditional Japanese firefly for its luminescent properties.

The Firefly was a small, lightweight flashlight that was easy to carry and conceal. It was also very durable and could withstand the rigors of combat. The Firefly was powered by a hand crank.

This is a rare and collectible item. It is a reminder of the ingenuity and courage of the Japanese soldiers who fought in World War II.

Translation on the side reads: PATENT and FIREFLY.

Please note, the hand crank does not function.
